Knowledge, experience, and integration

The program brings together Grofian Transpersonal Psychology, the study of non-ordinary states of consciousness, experiential learning, and the practical foundations of Grof Breathwork. Participants develop their understanding gradually and integrate it within a clear ethical framework.

What the program includes

  • Structured academic study and required readings
  • Online modules with international participation
  • Residential learning in carefully prepared settings
  • Personal experiential work and integration
  • Training in preparation, facilitation, care, and follow-up
  • A defined process toward facilitator certification
The training pathway

A progressive route to certification

The circular structure offers flexibility while preserving the depth and requirements of the complete process.

1

Orientation

Clarify your goals, previous experience, country, preferred format, and whether you seek personal development or certification.

2

Core modules

Complete four online and three residential modules covering the main theoretical and experiential foundations.

3

Practice & integration

Deepen learning between modules through personal experience, reading, reflection, and the requirements assigned to your pathway.

4

Certification module

Complete the extended residential module and demonstrate readiness within the program’s ethical and professional standards.

Choose your intention

Two ways to enter the program

You may begin for personal development or enter with the intention of completing the full certification pathway.

Personal development

Participate in selected modules to deepen self-exploration, expand your understanding of consciousness, and experience the methodology within a supported educational setting.

  • No psychology degree is required to participate.
  • Selected modules may later count toward the full pathway, subject to program requirements.

Professional certification

Follow the complete curriculum toward certification as a Grof Breathwork facilitator, including academic, experiential, practical, residential, and ethical components.

  • Certification is based on completion and demonstrated readiness.
  • Professional practice must remain within each participant’s legal scope and qualifications.

Admissions and responsibility

Certification is a process, not an automatic outcome

The institute may postpone or decline certification when program requirements, readiness, or ethical standards have not been met. This protects participants, future clients, the training community, and the integrity of the method.

Important professional note

Certification in Grof Breathwork does not replace a degree, clinical license, or other authorization required by local law. Participants are responsible for practicing within their existing professional scope and the regulations of the country where they work.

Frequently asked questions

Before you apply

Do I need to be a psychologist or psychiatrist?

No. People from different professional and educational backgrounds may participate. Certification and later professional use must always remain within your legal scope of practice.

Can I attend one module before deciding about certification?

Yes. Selected modules may be taken for personal development. If you later choose certification, the admissions team will confirm which completed activities can be recognized within the full pathway.

Can I begin with any module?

The program has a flexible circular structure. Entry points depend on availability, prerequisites, and the country schedule, so orientation with the admissions team is recommended.

Is the program online?

It is hybrid: four modules are online, while three core modules and the extended certification module are residential and in person.
